n open competitive examination for recruitment to the post of DataEntry Operator, a Group ‘C’ (Ministerial) post in the Office of Comptroller and AuditorGeneral in the Pay Scale of PB-1 (Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.2400) (Pre-revisedRs.4000-100-6000) all over the country will be held by the Staff Selection Commission onSunday, the

2. VACANCIES/RESERVATION
The approximate number of vacancies to be filled in is
400
 
(i.e. UR-202, SC-60, ST-30and
 
OBC-108).
Out of these
400
vacancies,
40
vacancies are reserved for Ex-Servicemen and
12
vacancies are reserved for P.H. (i.e.
04
vacancies each are reservedfor OH [One leg affected (O.L.)/Both leg affected (B.L.)], HH (Partially Deaf) and VH(Low Vision) persons. The number of vacancies is liable to alteration.The person recruited will be posted in various offices of the department located invarious States/Union Territories all over the country. Presently All India serviceliability is
not
involved.
3. NATIONALITY/CITIZENSHIP:
A candidate must be either:(a) a citizen of India, or(b) a subject of Nepal, or(c) a subject of Bhutan, or(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January,1962,with theintention of permanently settling in India, or
 
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka,East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(FormerlyTanganyika and Zanzibar),Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with theintention of permanently settling in India
Provided
that a candidate belonging to categories (b),(c),(d) and (e) above shallbe a person in whose favour a
certificate of eligibility
has been issued by theGovernment of India.A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may beadmitted to the examination provisionally but the Offer of appointment will be given
 
only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by Government of India.
4(A) AGE ( As on 01.06.2009 ):- 18 to 25 years
i.e. he/she must have been born not earlierthan 02.06.1984 and not later than 01.06.1991).
NOTE:
CANDIDATES SHOULD NOTE THAT THE DATE OF BIRTH ASRECORDED IN THE MATRICULATION/SECONDARY EXAMINATION CERTIFICATEOR AN EQUIVALENT CERTIFICATE ONLY, ON OR BEFORE THE DATE OFSUBMISSION OF APPLICATION WILL BE ACCEPTED BY THE COMMISSION ASPROOF OF AGE. NO SUBSEQUENT REQUEST FOR ITS CHANGE WILL BEENTERTAINED.
 B) The Upper age limit as prescribed in Para 4(A) will be relaxable:
(i)
 
Upto a maximum of 
5 years
if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or aScheduled Tribe category;(ii) Upto a maximum of 
3 years
in the case of candidates belonging to OBCs whoare eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates i.e. for thepurpose of 
Age
 
relaxation belonging to OBC category, the candidatesshould not belong to the Creamy Layer’’
as defined in Government of India,Department of Personnel & Training OM No. 36012/22/93-Estt. (SCT) dated08.09.1993 and modified vide Govt. of India Department of Personnel andTraining OM No. 36033/3/2004-Estt(Res) dated 09.03.2004 and 14.10.2008.(iii) Upto a maximum of 
10 years
in case of candidates belonging to physicallyhandicapped person. For candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC who arephysically handicapped, the maximum age relaxation of 10 years permissiblefor physically handicapped shall be in addition to the age relaxation provided interms of column (i) and (ii) above;(iv)
 
Upto the maximum of 
5 years
to candidates of Jammu and Kashmir who haveordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu and Kashmir during the periodfrom 1.1.1980 to 31.12.1989. (Any person intending to avail of the aforesaidrelaxation shall submit the certificate from either District Magistrate withinwhose jurisdiction he/she had ordinarily resided or any other authority sodesignated in this behalf by the Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir to the effect thathe had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu and Kashmir during theperiod 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989);(v) Upto a maximum of 
8 years
(upto 13 years for members of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes and 11 years for OBC) in the case of widows, divorcedwomen and women judicially separated from their husbands and who are notremarried subject to production of copy of the judgement/decree of theappropriate Court to prove the fact of divorce or the judicial separation;(vi) Upto a maximum of 
three years
(8 years for SC/ST and 6 years for OBCscandidates) in the case of Defence Personnel disabled in operation duringhostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as aconsequence thereof.
 
(vii)
 
Upper age limit is also relaxable for retrenched employees of Chukha HydelProject Authority in Bhutan who were directly recruited, to the extent of service rendered by them with the Authority (period of service rendered by theretrenched employees will be decided on the basis of certificate issued by theChukha Hydel Project Authority).
 4(C) Age concession for Ex-S
will be allowed in accordance with the extant Govt. ordersissued by the Government from time to time as indicated below:Ex-Servicemen, fulfilling the conditions laid down by the Govt. from time to time, shallbe allowed to deduct military service from their actual age and such resultant ageshould not exceed the prescribed age limit by more than 3 years (6 years in case of OBC and 8 years in case of SC/ST). Candidates admitted to the examination under thisage concession will be eligible to compete for all the vacancies whether reserved or notfor ex-servicemen.
EXPLANATION:
An Ex-Serviceman
means
a person who has served in any rank whether asa combatant or non-combatant in the Regular Army, Navy, Air Force of the Indian Union, and(i)
 
who retired from such service after earning his/her pension. This would alsoinclude persons who are retired/retire at their own request but after havingearned their pension; or(ii) who has been released from such service on medical grounds attributable tomilitary service/circumstances beyond his control and awarded medical orother disability pension; or(iii)
 
who has been released, otherwise than on his own request from such service as aresult of reduction in establishment; or(iv)
 
who has been released from such service after completing the specific period of engagements, otherwise than at his own request or by way of dismissal ordischarge on account of misconduct or inefficiency, and has been given agratuity; and includes personnel of the Territorial Army of the followingcategories, namely :-
(a) Pension holders for continuous embodied service,(b) Persons with disability attributable to military service; and(c) Gallantry award winners.Note: (i)
Ex-servicemen who have already joined government job in civil side afteravailing of the benefits given to ex-servicemen for their re-employment are onlyeligible for the age concession. Such candidates will
not
be eligible for the benefitof reservation as Ex-S or for fee concession.
Note: (ii)
 
The period of "Call up Service" of an Ex-Serviceman in the Armed Forcesshall also be treated as service rendered in the Armed Forces for the purposeof Para 4(C) above.
