A new report points out that while there has been over 15 years of economic progress in Dublin there is still large scale concentration of acute poverty in the inner city. The report also points out that the previous approach to examining progress in the inner city failed to locate the many pockets of disadvantage. Titled ‘Divided City’ this report is unique in identifying the scale and concentration of poverty and extreme disadvantage at a neighbourhood level in contrast to the wealth that is displayed in many of the new apartment blocks. The report was commissioned by the Dublin Inner City Partnership and carried out by socio-economic researcher Trutz Haase.
