Nokia's 6216 classis NFC(Near Field Technology Enabled): Nokia has just announced its newest
handset to support one of still-emerging technologies, Near Field Communications (NFC). Dubbed the 6216 classic,
Nokia’s third NFC-enabled phone does throw a bit of a curveball in that it is Nokia’s first to allow operators to build

NFC services into the SIM card. NFC technology allows devices to transfer data between each other merely by
tapping them together. Image files, video files, contacts, music and more can all be delivered wirelessly using NFC
technology but the key functionality being eyed by the industry is NFC-facilitated secure payments. The 6216

classic is certainly a step forward in this realm, as Nokia’s head of near field communications Jeremy Belostock

tells us: The Nokia 6216 classic will be amongst the first commercial devices in the market complying with
operator requirements using the SIM card in connection to secure transactions with Near Field Communications.
With the Nokia 6216 classic in your pocket and the ticketing applications on the SIM you can replace the multitude
of cards in your wallet. Having the applications on the SIM consumers can bring their secure applications to their
next Nokia NFC enabled phone. This handset will not be launched in Pakistan right now.

International News:
RIM unseats Apple in smartphone sales ranking:RIM’s BlackBerry Curve move
past Apple’s iPhone to become the best-selling consumer smartphone in the U.S. in the first
quarter (Q1) of 2009. RIM’s consumer smartphone market share increased 15 percent to
nearly 50 percent of the smartphone market in Q1 2009 versus the prior quarter, as Apple’s
and Palm’s share both declined 10 percent each. Based on U.S. consumer sales of
smartphone handsets in NPD’s “Smartphone Market Update” report, the first-quarter 2009
ranking of the top-five best-selling smartphones is as follows: 1. RIM BlackBerry Curve (all 83XX models) 2. Apple
iPhone 3G (all models) 3.RIM BlackBerry Storm 4.RIM BlackBerry Pearl (all models, except flip) 5.T-Mobile G1.
According to the company, more than half of RIM's 25 million subscribers now fall into the non -corporate
category Smartphones, which represented just 17 percent of handset sales volume in Q1 2008, now make up 23
percent of sales. “Even in this challenging economy, consumers are migrating toward Web-capable handsets and
their supporting data plans to access more information and entertainment on the go.
Controlling your PC from BlackBerry Storm: New to the scene is LogMeIn Ignition, an app for the Storm

which allows Windows and Mac users to access and control their computers on the go. LogMeIn Ignition has the
ability to pan and zoom, a full-QWERTY keyboard and the ability to store login details for multiple computers
along with necessary passwords with 256-bit SSL encryption. LogMeIn’s Ignition looks to be a definite winner for
those who are looking to access their computers while on the move.

Apple announce triumphant financial quarter results: It now came Apple's turn for announcing their

financial results for the first quarter of 2009. The company acquired a revenue of 8.16 billion US dollars and a net quarterly profit of 1.21 billion US dollars. According to Apple the nice results are mainly due to the strong sales of the iPhone and Apple TV. The iPhone 3G units sold this quarter were 3.79 million, which is exactly 123% more than the sales for the same period last year. The introduction of the Apple's AppStore is also playing a decisive role in the company's success. The app distribution network has helped almost a billion apps reach their new owners in less than a year existence. The AppStore downloads have already hit the billion mark.

Nokia Q1 results: Nokia’s net income in the first quarter of this year rang up at €122 million, down from €1.22

billion in Q1 2008. Net plummeted 90%. OPK (Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasuvo) had this to say: As an example in Q1,
I am especially pleased with the performance of our first mass market touch product, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic,
