She was killed shortly after Wesley’s birth. In the dreamshe’s approached by a man, masked in shadow. He raises apistol and shoots her at close range. Usually Wesley wakes atthe moment the gun fires. But this time something else wakeshim. Somebody’s rummaging around upstairs…
The introductory tutorials that precede this levelare covered in the
Assassin’s School
chapter.
As you gain control of Wesley, exit the room where you beginand move toward the kitchen. Despite the noise and lightsfrom upstairs, there is no danger down here. So take a fewmoments to get used to the movement controls. Also searcharound the ground floor for pickups—there’s some ammoon the kitchen counter. Ammo pickups always flash white,

Before rushing upstairs, enter the kitchen to unlock thefirst game reward—it looks like a Kill Order. It’s locatednear an open cabinet inside the kitchen, not far fromthe ammo. This particular reward unlocks concept art.Game rewards are scattered throughout the levels. It’sbest to clear areas of threats before attempting to findand retrieve them. In addition to concept art, gamerewards can unlock videos, comic covers, posters, andteam pictures.

He removes the backing to reveal some hiddendocuments and a piece of fabric—perhaps a piece of fabriccreated on The Loom of Fate. But whose name is on it? It’snot long before the two SWAT Assassins notice Wesley andopen fire. Wesley takes one out, but the other escapes byleaping out a window, taking the piece of fabric with him.Once you’ve grabbed all the pickups on the ground floor, head upstairs. The landing contains no pickups, so turn leftat the top of the steps and approach the open door on theright. This is where all the noise is coming from. As you nearthe door a cutscene is triggered. Two SWATofficers areinside theroom, butsomething isn’tright. They’respeakingFrench. As you regain control of Wesley, you’re automat-ically placed behind cover. Peek around or over the piece ofcover to engage one of the SWAT Assassins. He’s armed witha submachine gun, so do your best to say behind cover whilehe’s firing. As he ducks behind cover, take aim and shoothim as soon as he moves out of cover to fire another burst. For best results, go for the headshot—one shot, one kill.Otherwise, quickly place 2–3 rounds in his torso for the kill. It’s also possible to flank this enemy. Pin him with Blind Fire, then move to the right, moving along the side of the AC unitto flank him.
When the trigger is held down, Wesley’s pistolfires automatically, but for a higher rate of fire, pull the trigger rapidly. Get used to firing 3–4rounds as quickly as possible, then duck behindcover to avoid getting hit by return fire. Landinga tight cluster of 3–4 rounds in a target is usually enough to guarantee a kill.

Proceed to the next rooftop and immediately turn right tospot another enemy. Quickly slide to cover near this ductbefore he can open fire. Once you’ve made it behind cover, look for an opportunity to return fire. If necessary, Blind Fireto suppress him, then leapfrog from one piece of cover to thenext. If you’re quick, you can move into knife range before herecovers. But it’s just as easy to score a quick headshot andcontinue on your way.

If Wesley is hit,the screen flashes red indicating a loss of health.Use this warning to find cover as quickly aspossible. You won’t last long out in the open.
Follow the shortflight of stepsdown to thenext rooftop—you have theSWAT Leadertrapped. But asyou approach,a breachingchargeexplodes ahead, offering the SWAT Leader a path of escape.Out of the door come two more thugs looking to slow yourprogress. Duck into cover and take out these baddies beforeproceeding through the breached doorway ahead. Thereare several pieces of adjacent cover here, so feel free to usethem to get a better angle on your targets. On your way tothe door, remember to grab the ammo off the dead enemies.Passing through the breached doorway triggers a cutscene.Inside the adjoining hallway Wesley confronts the SWATLeader. However, the SWAT Leader has the upper handthanks to his ballistic shield. The shield can withstandsmall-arms fire, leaving Wesley with few options but to takecover as the SWAT Leader fires away.
