FADE IN: INT. FARMHOUSE SHELTER The chamber is dark. CR-CRACK.

A heavy, wooden door breaks opensSharp, white sunlight pours through into a musty room. Speckles of dust filter through the mornings warmth. At the top of the doorway, a SHADOWED FIGURE stands. A beam of light shoots out of his hand. VOICE(O.S.) Do you see anything? FIGURE I cant see a damn thing. The flashlight surveys the cluttered room-- antique picture frames, an old bed frame, and dusty linens piled together without care. The Figure moves through the room. FIGURE Wait a second. I think I found CLICK-CLICK. The room swells with yellow light. The figure reveals to be DONALD, a handsome man in his 30s with blond, primed hair. He is protected by a clear helmet that covers the whole of his head. VOICE(O.S.) Its a gold mine, Donald. A slim brunette, wearing a modified suit, pushes pass. She rushes over to a table and digs through the clutter. DONALD Jess, I dont know if we should Touch anything. JESS Relax. Its been years since anyone have found this place.

DONALD Somethings are better left Donald is distracted by a glimmering piece of metal. It is intricately carved with the form of rolling clouds. JESS(O.S.) Don-Donald reaches out for the frame. DONALD Jess, come take a look at this. Donald lifts the frame, removes the cloth sheet and swipes his ribbed, leather glove across a thick film of dust. DONALD Oh my god. The frame reveals to be a PAINTING of a family picture in front of a white farmhouse. Seated in the middle, next to a tire swing, before twenty other people, is a woman in a floral blue spring dress. She is looking up into the eyes of a proud man, cradling her. A loving past of affection between Donald and Jess. JESS Is that-DONALD I dont understand. How can that be? JESS Don. Who are these people? DONALD My- My family. Grammie, Ray, George, Mary-lou, John-- you. And me. JESS That cant be. Ive never been to This planet before. DONALD And you think I have?!

JESS: JESS We were just supposed to gather This womansDONALD I told you not to touch anything! JESS You! You found the paintSMASH. The wooden door closes. The light bulb in the middle of the room EXPLODES into sudden darkness. DONALD(V.O.) Jess! The broken light begins to pulsate. Jess stands before Donald arguing, blackJess stands before Donald with her eyes wide, mouth agape, blackDONALD Jess! Jess is gone, blackDonald frantically fumbles with his flashlight. The room flashes with intermittent bursts of light- slowly removing the clutter, piece by piece until the room is no more than a barren four, cement walls. Donald swings the flashlight around the room. DONALD JESS! JESS!!! VOICE(O.S.) --es! Out here! The heavy wooden door creaks open. A petite SHROUDED FIGURE stands in the doorway, amidst rays of white light. FIGURE What are you doin in here, silly?

DONALD Jess? The figure steps forward to reveal Jess with curled brown hair and a white hairband. Cute as a button, dressed to the nines in her-- floral blue spring dress. JESS Were you waitin for me, don-jaun? Donald doesnt know how to respond. Jess approaches him nuzzling her nose on the bottom of his chin. JESS When you said, till we meet again I had no idea it would be like this. DONALD Who-- I, Jess? JESS Yes, silly. We cant do this here. Your Grammie made sweet potatoDONALD But, the mission We have toJESS The mission? Tsk, Don. Donald, Did You forget to get the corn? Its fine. Come on. Jess grabs Donalds hand and pulls him through the door of light and intoEXT. FARMHOUSE SHELTER DAY The front yard of a farmhouse. A LITTLE BOY AND GIRL run before them, chasing each other. A picnic is gathering beneath a large tree. The same tree from which hangs the tire swing from the painting, which lazily sways under the momentum of a TEENAGE GIRL. JESS: (to Children)

JESS Hey, you two. Be careful. GRAMMIE, an elderly woman with charming stamina breaks through a screen door, carrying a hot casserole dish. GRAMMIE Donald. There you are. Come help Your old grandmother with this. Jess pulls him along. DONALD Jess. Is this JESS What is it darling? DONALD Is this real? INT. FARMHOUSE SHELTER DAY The dark, shrouded figures of Donald and Jess can be seen standing before each other in the blistering sun. The room begins to grow darker, the corners and walls diminish to a void of black as Jess reaches into hug Donald. SLAM. The door slams close. Pitch black.
