Day 1 London to Calais (approx 95 miles) The challenge begins bright and early in South London, heading through rural Kent the garden of England. The ride winds through traditional British countryside, along the North Downs Way before reaching the White Cliffs of Dover. The ferry will then head over the Channel, across to Calais, for the first night s rest. Day 2 Calais to Abbeville (approx 75 miles) Stunning countryside awaits you in northern France as you travel south through some beautiful villages dont be surprised if you are greeted with a Bonjour Monsieur/Madame as you cycle through! Heading through Desvres, a market town known for its ceramics, you will ride along the windy roads of the Canche River valley. You will get to visit the Spanish influenced town of Hesdin, with its tremendous architecture, infamous due to its close proximity to the battle of Agincourt. You will be spending the night in Abbeville a town steeped in war history, famous for retaining its beautiful gothic church, despite the destruction of the rest of the town during World War II. Day 3 Abbeville to Beauvais (approx 70 miles)
Day 4 Beauvais to Paris (approx 60 miles) The last day of cycling brings a big push to the final, fantastic destination. After enjoying your lunch next to the River Oise your journey will bring you to the outskirts of Paris. The last miles will take you through the centre of the worlds most beautiful city, along some of the famous boulevards, the banks of the Seine and under the shadow of the Eiffel Tower. The end of the day means you can kick off your helmet, jump off your saddle and celebrate!
Day 5 Paris to London Today is yours to spend how you please, soaking up the Parisian way of life, you can explore the city, visiting the iconic landmarks that you passed on your travels! Meeting in the afternoon at the Gare du Nord, to catch the Eurostar home, arriving at St Pancras where you will be reunited with your trusty bike!
Your poignant route this morning will begin in Abbeville and will follow the River Somme. The significance of this beautiful countryside needs no mention, with countless opportunities to reflect on its history. The end of the day leads you to Beauvais where the Place de lHotel de Ville, the Cathedrale Saint Pierre de Beauvais, and the 12th century architecture provide the perfect evening setting.
Registration Fee
Your registration fee of 99 will need to be paid upon booking your place on the ride. The registration fee is non-refundable.
Minimum sponsorship
The minimum sponsorship is 1450.
Costs
The tour costs approximately 50% of the minimum sponsorship level. The first 80% of this is due to Skyline 12 weeks before the event. Costs are confirmed 8 weeks before departure.

All participants are responsible for their own passport. A tetanus injection is essential. Tour costs do not include travel insurance, which is compulsory for all participants. The temperature will be between 16 and 28 degrees Celsius depending on the month.
To ensure you achieve the very best results when raising money for Shine, it is best to get started as soon as possible, to ensure that you are successful in raising the minimum sponsorship of 1450. With fundraising support available to you every step of the way, the Shine Community and Events Team will ensure you get all the help you need with planning, arranging and publicising your event.
Online Sponsorship The first thing to do to help you get started is to set up an online donation page, as this helps you to collect donations simply from your friends and family. Connect your fundraising page to your Facebook and Twitter accounts, personalise it to let everyone know about your challenge, and share it with as many people as you can! We recommend JustGiving, Virgin Money Giving or BTmydonate. Ask your boss... Many large companies often match donations, so make sure your employer knows about your challenge! Your workplace is often a great place to hold a fundraising event too, so try and get as many colleagues, clients and customers involved as possible. Arrange an event With anything from a bake sale to a quiz night helping you raise much needed money for your trip, the fundraising team at Shine have endless suggestions for simple and effective events that will help you well on your way to reaching your 1450 total! Is the trip for me? This trip is a fantastic challenge for anyone wanting to do something amazing for a great cause! Through the cycle ride you will meet a great group of like-minded people, hoping to share a fantastic experience and make some great new friends. How fit do I need to be? People from all walks of life will be taking part in this challenge with you, all with probably the same level of general fitness. However, it is absolutely vital that you train for the longdistance, multi-terrain route, to avoid any chance of you not being able to reach the destination and complete the route. The event organisers will send you a suggested training plan, complete with training tips and advice. What about food and drink? Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided throughout the trip, except for 3 meals: Dinner on the ferry to Calais Lunch in Paris Final night dinner in Paris Vegetarians and anyone else with specific dietary requirements will also be catered for; just inform the Skyline team of your needs as soon as possible. When should I book my place? As soon as you possibly can! Places are limited and do get filled quickly, so make sure that you dont miss out on this fantastic opportunity.
Will I be able to raise the minimum sponsorship? Yes! The fundraising team at Shine will be on-hand to help you through every step of your fundraising, from providing you with a few start-up ideas, to sending you all the materials you need to help you raise as much money as you can! Will someone carry my luggage whilst Im cycling? There will be support vehicles with the group at all times, they will carry your luggage, whilst all you need on your person will be a bum bag or small pannier to carry essentials such as sun-cream and a camera. What do I need to bring? No specialist kit is required. Helmets are COMPULSORY and it is strongly recommended that you use your own bike for both your training as well as the cycle itself.
