RE: --WALK IN MOTION --

Dear Alok:

The Ontario Ombudsman have just directed a full investigation by his office into the de-escalation techniques use by police in Ontario. Mr. Marin ,concluded speaking at Queens Park that a full investigation will take place to determine for systemic issues and such investigation doesnt overlap, what currently the S.I.U is looking into to determine if the use of excessive power by Mr. James Forcillo was appropriate. http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2013/08/08/ontario-ombudsman-toprob_n_3723722.html For the record Mr. ALok, De-escalation Techniques that members of the T.P.S have to their disposal when interacting with Toronto Taxpayers; are the Mobility Intervention Crisis Teams ( M.C.I.T) that unfortunately, are not available 24 hours to Toronto Taxpayers. There are other techniques such as Teasers that have proven to be risky when applying to people with an unknown medical condition. On August 13,2013 the Board wont be dealing with the Death of Sammy Yatim and the circumstances surrounding the case This is fully understood. Nevertheless, I do have urgent matter to the Board.

Mr. ALok, I am making an urgent request to you as the chair of the T.P.S Board to add to the agenda of August 13, 2013 the following Walk in item; requested by Miguel Avila:

AGENDA ITEM : MOBILITY INTERVENTION CRISIS TEAMS and TORONTO RESIDENTS Why? in view of the tragedy of last July 26th 2013 on Toronto Streets by members of the T.P.S a young man died unnecessarily, He appears to have had a mental crisis..and no M.I.C.T were in the scene. Mr. ALok, We need to SAVE lives. Precious lives of Toronto Taxpayers, HEALTH CANADA statistic shown that 1 on 5 Canadians suffer from some type of mental illnesses. DIRECTION TO THE BOARD: Please starting August 13, 2013 initiate the divesting of T.A.V.I.S a provincial funding program and transfer the funds towards hiring more Nurses to provide around the clock services for Toronto Taxpayers that suffer from Mental illnesses when confronting T.P.S Officers. Such divesting should occur gradually as practical as necessary so the safety of people is not at risk. Remember the Ontario Province has committed an additional ten (10) millions dollars to beef up the T.A.V.I.S program in Toronto. Expect to hear your reply . preferably directly from you not later than Monday August 12th,, Please lets act now, so we dont have to mourn again another Toronto Taxpayer and this person could a T.T.C rider , a T.T.C Resident or anyone in Toronto for that fact. A friendly reminder I have both a medical and physical disabilities and dont want to be another statistical data in the T.P.S Board agenda.

Look forward to hear from you.
