What is an IPR?
Intellectual property means the property represented by the product
 
emanatingfrom creativity of the human mind, human intellect and creative ideas. It can be aninvention, original designs, trademark, artistic creation etc.The growing importance of intellectual property rights both in national andinternational arena has evoked keen interest among policy makers, inventors,Creators, trading community, the researchers and academicians. The propertyCreated by the intellectual activity in the field of science art etc, demandingLegal protection has assumed greater contemporary significance.By acquiring a legal right over the property, the creator of the intellectual propertyseeks to ensure that he has exclusive rights over it and that the property can be putto use by others only with his consent.Industrial property mainly consists of:1.Patents:eg-Industrial product

Designs: For creations determining the appearance of industrial products
3.
Trademarks: Issued for identification of the manufacturer or vendor of the product e.g.-coke label is a trademark 
4.
Copyrights: Relates to artistic and literary creations such as poem, novel, painting, computer soft wares etc.
Geographical indication:
It identifies agriculture, natural or a manufactured goods, originating from adefinite territory.It is an indication or appellation of the origin of a particular  product. For example: Darjeeling tea, basmati rice kanchipuram sarees, Nagpur oranges etc

Who are patent agents?
Patent agents are the certified Patent professional by Patent office(comesunder ministry of commerce)
Patent agents are entitled to practice before the patent office.
Patent agents are governed by the Indian Patent Act,1970
Patent agents exist worldwide in accordance with their country Patent law
Qualification for a Patent agent:
Must be a Science/Engineering graduate.
Must have qualified Patent agent examination conducted by Indian patentoffice in the month of November.
Must be above 21 years of age.
Should not be punished by any court.
What is Patent Agent exam?
Examination is conducted by Indian Patent office in the month of November.
The exam consists of two written papers, followed by a mock interview.
Total marks are 300
Individual have to attain a 60% of aggregate and 50% in each paper
