The following are my Committee assignments for 2013-2013. They were developed with three principles in mind: Diversityensure that each committee is constructed with ample minority and gender representation. This was challenging given the composition of the current council makeup is not perfectly balanced. Re-alignmentintended to re-align the focus of two committees by joining Environment to Quality of Life, and Trinity River to Transportation. Given the importance of the transportation element within the Trinity River Project, those two were combined into one committee. Seniorityallow each of our senior council members a chairmanship while grooming our next leaders. As you will see, every councilperson has a chairmanship or a vice chair position. Serving as the Mayor of Dallas is a fascinating and rewarding experience and I look forward to working with you over the next two years to achieve our goals and objectives to make the City of Dallas all that it is capable of becoming..
