This was shot at the end of a ten hour long day in the back-country. We were just on our way home when Riley spottedthis line. The sun was getting low in the sky which created thatbeautiful deep blue. I shot with a telephoto lens but left itpretty loose to let the scenery and the sky do the talking. Itwas late in the season but Whistler had a few late dumps andthis turned out to be one of the best days of the year.

: Nick and I foundthis run that ran off thesouth face of Happo-Onemountain in Hakuba. I hadbeen looking at it beforethe snow even fell. Eventu-ally we made our way in andexplored the zone. It wasepic and always fresh. Youhad to ski back to the resorton the side roads. Welapped this zone for weeks,it also passed my house so Ihit it as a 'home run' onpow days. This picturereminds me of those days.
