SCOLIOSIS ANALYZER

Our posture depends on many factors which influence the state of the vertebral column, from which numerous adaptive pathologies arise, some extremely painful.

3D BodySpine allows an accurate evaluation of the state of the spine to be made by means of the acquisition and elaboration of digital images. The only procedure which is required of the professional is the positioning of markers at predetermined reference points; this procedure, which can also be carried out without the application of markers using the Surfacer System, this is quick and simple and allows the image to be captured and elaborated instantly. The points obtained are used to carry out various three dimensional measurements, on the basis of which complex algorithms which provide mathematical calculations up to the fifth root are performed . 3D BodySpine is capable of measuring the length of the upper and lower limbs automatically and carrying out, also automatically, calculations which are done manually today, such as Cobb's angle and the related gibbus. 3D BodySpine, a genuine revolution in its field , makes data in the form of images, numerical values and three dimensional representations available, allows the saving of time and resources, guarantees an accurate diagnosis and is without risks for the patient. In addition, with an in-depth analysis of a patient's data in a single consultation, it permits a notable reduction in the duration of the traditional consultations, which would include a preventive radiological examination and a subsequent specialist consultation. 3D BodySpine has a strong impact in the field of prevention because, being easily transportable, it allows measurements and subsequent monitoring to be carried out in schools, as well as in National Health structures, at a reasonable cost. The clear advantages from the clinical and public health points of view are enormous, and there could be notable savings in health spending in terms of costs related to the lack of prevention or to the resources required for traditional radiological examinations, which would not be abandoned but rather used more appropriately, only in very serious cases .

CONFIGURATIONS AVAILABLE: Digital acquisition, with application of markers on the patient Three dimensional acquisition, by means of Surfacer (optical luminous scanning), without application of markers 3D Total BodySpine additional software, for the three dimensional analysis also of the lower limbs PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS: Analysis of spine curvature in the frontal plane Three dimensional reconstruction of the vertebral column, rib cage, scapula, pelvis and lower limbs, with related rotations Calculation of Cobb's angle of simple and complex curves Measurement of the length of the lower limbs with angle of varus and valgus Patient data bank Acquisition of photographs and radiographs and their superimposition onto vertebral column 3D data Patients' Clinical Diary (a history of all consultations and analysis of improvements) Diagnosis and investigations archived and personalised print-out. The possibility of immediately applying corrective procedures and verifying the result (braces, rehabilitation, orthoses) May be integrated with D.B.I.S. (Digital Biometry Images Scanning) digitalised biometry system. SCIENTIFIC REFERENCES: 3D BodySpine was tested, prior to its introduction onto the market, for more than three years by Professor Bruno Stafisso, Director of the Centre for Sports Medicine ASL No. 2, Perugia, who, with his team, carried out a study on over 1000 patients and confirmed the perfect correspondence between the values acquired and radiographic data: the correspondence observed after superimposition of radiography and 3D BodySpine examination was up to 99%. These cases are currently being published and analysed in depth with the Postural Biomedicine Team.

Many studies have confirmed that the adoption of poor posture can be the major cause of osteoarticular system disorders.

Digital Acquisition

3D BodySpine has therefore been developed in response to a medical requirement: by addressing the problem of posture in general and of certain pathology, such as scoliosis, abnormal kyphosis and lordosis. No radiation is absorbed by the patient, which offers the advantage of being able to carry out more frequent checkups or examinations.
