Origami Bonsai is a new art form developed by Benjamin John Coleman, teacher, artist and inventor, over the past seven years. There are three books in the Origami Bonsai series. The first book, “Origami Bonsai” will be released by Tuttle Publishing in April of 2010. The second book, “Advanced Origami Bonsai” was released in digital form in June of 2009. The third book, “Origami Bonsai Accessories” will be released digitally some time in 2010.
Destined to become a classic, Advanced Origami Bonsai builds on the concepts introduced in the first book. Advanced Origami Bonsai includes flower and leaf designs, but most importantly, it introduces the world to Makigami which means “roll-paper” in Japanese. Coleman uses the Makigami technique to roll tapered, natural looking branches from newspaper! Learn how to assemble these strong paper branches into complex branch networks! With Advanced Origami Bonsai you can learn how to make botanical sculptures in any shape, size and color. 182 pages of step by step instructions, diagrams, photos and even VIDEOS ensure your success!
One of the most eco-friendly art forms ever developed; whether you want to make gifts, or start a craft business (sculptures cost just pennies in materials), Origami Bonsai sculptures will be cherished for generations. No folding experience is required; Advanced Origami Bonsai will teach even novice folders how to succeed.
ORIGAMI BONSAI IS A COLLABERATIVE EFFORT!
