It had been a week since Jacob and Renesmee had told us that theywere going to get married. A week of planning. Just as soon as theyleft, I had told Bella that I needed to be alone for a while to think. Shesaid that she understood. She was so sweet. She would say and doanything for me. She was so unselfish.She could have said no, that we needed to talk about this. But sheunderstood that I needed to think this over on my own first.I took the Ferrari out for a drive. After a few minutes I pulled the car over. Picked up my phone, and dialed Nahuels number.Since our encounter with the Volturi all those years ago, Nahuel hadbeen a frequent guest in our home. He came to see us at least twicea year, and then he stayed for at least a month at a time.He had watched Renesmee's growth with curious eyes. Sometimes Icould hear him thinking fondly of her.When she became sixteen his behaviour towards her changed. Hetreated her like a grown up.He fell in love with her to.I didn't know how to feel about it. On the one hand I liked that shehad more than one choice, but I still was her father, and to me, shewould always be my little girl.At that moment I understood what Charlie must have felt like when hesaw me and Bella together. The pain of knowing that you would looseyour little girl to another man soon. She was becoming a woman.
 
So I had a problem on my hands. Renesmee had spent all her timewith Jacob when she had the posibillity, and that was quite often.When Nahuel came to see us, I could see it in her eyes that she likedhim to. They had a special bond. They were both half breeds. Notthat any of us saw her that way, but this was something that puzzledher. So everytime Nahuel came for a visit, she devided her timebetween her two friends.It had only been a couple of months since Nahuel had left us the lasttime.I could only imagine the surprise in his voice when I asked him tocome for another visit. He happily agreed, said that he just wanted tosort out something, but then he would be able to come within a week.Today I was going to the airport to pick him up. No one knew that hewas coming, except from Bella. She hadn't known why he wascoming so soon, but she said that she was always happy to see him.This time she was a bit surprised , because I had told her to clean theguestroom in the cottage, so that it was ready when he came. Heusually stayed up in the main house.She had looked at me, and knew that I was up to something. Over the years it had become almost impossible to lie to her. It was likeshe had a sixth scent. She saw right through me. I started to lie, butshe just looked at me and said: Edward Cullen. You are going to tellme the truth. There is something going on, and I want to know what itis.So there I stood, knowing that she wouldn't give up until I had told her everything.Well I said. This might sound a bit crazy, but please try to see thingsfrom my point of view.I told her about my plan to get Nahuel to come here, to see what hewould do about the situation.

I don't think Bella would have agreed to Edward's plan, because she knows that Jacob is imprinted, which means that not only will he be the most perfect boyfriend Nessie will ever find, but should she choose Nahuel, it will destroy him. Or maybe I just really want Jacob to get Nessie in the end. ;P Spelling: "scent" should be "sense".
