Good Morning
My name i
s Timothy Sinclair and I am a Triple “
A
School Safety Patrollerat Richard L. Brown Elementary School, #148 in Jacksonville, Florida. I haveaspired to participate in this program since I was a kindergartener.
I’m in 5
th
Grade and my Patrol Responsibilities are to model leadershiptraits, report to post on time, enforce school safety rules, raise and take downthe American Flag, and assist students during arrival and dismissal. As apatroller, I also help teachers, by running errands or supervising students.I feel that I have learned so much about being a good citizen and I amglad to know that I am helping to serve my school. Participating in thisprogram has helped me to become a better leader by teaching me to beresponsible, dedicated, and respectful of authority.Being responsible is important because it really shows that you havematured during life. It shows that you are trustworthy and value others timeand investment in helping you. My participation in the patrol program allowedme to develop this quality and to learn these skills by doing tasks that requireme to act responsibly or lose the privilege of being a patroller. If you are not responsible, you maybe asked to relinquish your safety patrol belt and thepower that goes with it.Being dedicated is another important quality because it shows that youare dependable. When you are dedicated; students, teachers, andadministrators trust you to stay with a job until it is done well. The patrolprogram requires the members to come to school, report to post on time andstay on post until the job is complete.
