Trust me, one of the best homely recipes. Ever. Feel privileged!

Ingredients: Butter 125g (salted is fine) Sugar 125g Lemon 1/2 Salt A pinch Eggs 2 Cake Flour 175g Baking Powder 1 teaspoon Apples 5 Cinnamon Sugar 2 teaspoons (you can buy these in little bottles under the bottled spices section in most supermarkets) The Magic Steps: Before preparing the ingredients, pre-heat the oven to about 210 degrees celcius for about half an hour 1. Beat the butter and sugar together with a mixer 2. Grate the skin of half a lemon into tiny pieces, put aside 3. Beat the eggs 4. Add the beaten eggs into the butter and sugar mixture, throw in the pinch of salt whilst doing so 5. Slowly add in the cake flour and baking powder, as well as the lemon zest, continue mixing until texture is consistent 6. Grease the surfaces inside the baking tin (a 22-24 cm one would be good) and pour in the whole mixture 7. Smoothen out the cake mixture inside the baking tin 8. Skin and cut each apple into 6-8 pieces depending on how big they are (split them from top down, imagine dividing a circle if you know what i mean) 9. After slicing the apple into a few pieces, proceed to carve the back of each piece with lines lengthwise about 5 millimeters apart so that you get the effect of what you see in the picture 10. Arrange them as you wish on top of the cake mixture in the baking tin, make sure no apples are touching the sides of the tin 11. Bake in the oven at 200 degrees for around 40-45 mins, if the top doesnt start to brown by around 20 mins, adjust the temperature accordingly. 12. Check if the cake is ready by inserting a toothpick into it at the later intervals, the toothpick should be clean when extracted

13. Once ready, sprinkle the cinnamon sugar evenly over the top of the cake and leave it to cool in an airy place for half an hour (less if you want to gobble it hot!) 14. ENJOY! Top with a scoop of vanilla/rumraisin ice cream, sensational.
