    Kayla and her friend, Hannah, came up with the idea of having a picnic at the park a couple of blocks away with the giant bug-shaped jungle gym. I agreed to it, expecting them to eat something simple for their picnic like jelly sandwiches, but to my surprise they asked for grilled cheese sandwiches.

    Kaylaandherfriend,Hannah,cameupwiththeideaofhavingapicnicattheparkacoupleof blocksawaywiththegiantbugshapedjunglegym.Iagreedtoit,expectingthemtoeat somethingsimplefortheirpicniclikejellysandwiches,buttomysurprisetheyaskedforgrilled cheesesandwiches.Afterthesandwicheswereready,thekidsloadedthem,plusdrinksanda bagfullofgoldfishcrackersintooneofourcoolers.Wehauledthefoodandablanketdownto theBugPark.Bythistime,however,itwasstartingtolooklikeeverykidwithinthreeblocks wasgettinginvolvedinthepicnic.Intotal,eightkidsshowedupforapicnicwhichIhadexpected tofeedonlythreeorfouratthemost. Weroundedoffthepicnicwithagoodolefashionedroundoflightsaberduels.Whatpicnic wouldbecompletewithoutit? ThatwasthesamedaythatIwasscheduledtodrivedowntotheairportinLansingtopickup TheresabecauseshewasreturninghomeafterafewdaysinLosAngeles.So,thequietevening athomepreparingformylongdrivetoLansingandbackturnedintosomethingtotallydifferent thankstomykidsandtheirfriends.
