Q. Why is Adobe making the Photoshop CS3 beta available now?

Making thePhotoshop CS3 Beta available to all o our Mac-based Photoshop CS2 users is a urtherproo o our commitment to the platorm. Since a large portion o our customer base ison Windows, Adobe is simultaneously releasing a Windows version o the PhotoshopCS3 beta to Windows XP and Vista users.
Q. Who is eligible or the Photoshop CS3 beta?
A. Te Photoshop CS3 beta is available in English only but to Photoshop CS2 usersworldwide. It is available to licensed users o either the Photoshop CS2 (ull, upgrade,and education), Adobe Creative Suite 2.x Standard or Premium (ull, upgrade, andeducation), Adobe Production Studio Standard and Premium (ull, upgrade, andeducation), Adobe Video Bundle (ull, upgrade, and education) or Adobe Web Bundle(ull, upgrade, and education). You will need to provide your Photoshop CS2, CreativeSuite, Production Studio or Bundle serial number in order to get a Photoshop CS3 betaserial number, enabling you to activate the Photoshop beta and use it beyond the 2-day grace period.

Q. What’s new in the Photoshop CS3 beta?
 
A. Our primary reason or releasing this beta version is to allow our Macintosh customers to runPhotoshop natively on the latest Intel based systems, but we have no doubt that all o our customers willenjoy exploring the application and seeing some o the new eatures we have in store. Te application isnot yet complete, but some o the eatures you may want to check out in the beta include: Non-destructiveSmart Filters, Quick Selection tool, Rene Edge, Automatic layer alignment and blending, VanishingPoint with multiple, adjustable angle perspective planes, Black and White conversion and o course many more or you to discover. Q. Is the Photoshop CS3 beta eature set complete?
A. By denition, a beta is not the nal build o a product. Since the Photoshop CS3 soware is ar along inits development cycle, there will not be time to incorporate eature eedback rom this public beta into thenal release. However, engineering and testing work on Photoshop CS3 will be ongoing until the launchin spring 2007, and eature suggestions gathered during the public beta may still inuence uture releaseso the soware.

Q. Can I use the Photoshop CS3 beta in my proessional workow? What are the limitations o a beta?
A. Although some may nd the Photoshop CS3 quality good enough to use in a production environment,the nature o beta soware is that it is not production quality, so not everything may work perectly.Customers should be aware that Adobe will not oer any technical support or the Photoshop CS3 beta.
