for more information.
Working Class Hero Fundis a newly established organization founded on the tenet thatthere are many good, hard working people in today’s society that experience traumaticevents that leave them unable to meet basic necessities. While these individuals wouldchoose not to seek charity, they find themselves in an unenviable position of needing assistance, and thenfind that they do not meet guidelines of more traditional providers.WCHF will provide crisis funding for local individuals that can prove they are gainfully employed and canshow need. Participants must be able to articulate what circumstances caused the crisis, and what stepsthey plan to take to prevent similar circumstances from occurring again. Funds will not be distributed to theindividuals, but directly used to resolve the immediate crisis. Participants will not be asked to repay theamount, but will be asked to sign an ethical contract that will require that they somehow “pay forward” thegood will assistance that was given to them. That “pay it forward” can be as simple as helping a friend inneed, mowing the lawn of an elderly neighbor, or volunteering at a local non-profit.
Morris and his wife Esther went to the state fair every year, and every year Morriswould say, 'Esther, I'd like to ride in that helicopter. 'Esther always replied, 'I know Mor-ris, but that helicopter ride is 50 dollars and 50 dollars is 50 dollars.'One year Esther and Morris went to the fair, and Morris said, 'Esther I'm 85 yearsold. If I don't ride that helicopter, I might never get another chance.' Esther replied,'Morris that helicopter is 50 dollars and 50 dollars is 50 dollars.' The pilot overheard the coupleand said, 'Folks I'll make you a deal. I'll take the both of you for a ride; if you can stay quiet for theentire ride and not say a word, I won't charge you! But if you say one word, it's 50 dollars.'Morris and Esther agreed and up they went. The pilot did all kinds of fancy maneuvers, but nota word was spoken. He did his dare devil tricks over and over again, butstill not a word. When they landed, the pilot turned to Morris and said, 'bygolly, I did everything I could to get you to yell out, but you didn't . I'mimpressed!'Morris replied, 'Well I almost said something when Esther fell out, but,you know, 50 dollars is 50 dollars!'
