Working with Layers and Layer Groups
Layers and their colors can be customized and renamed according to yourneeds using the Mechanical Options dialog box > Layer / Object Settings. Seethe Online help for further information on this topic.
s
Layer 0 is a default layer and not a mechanical layer, because this layer hasspecial properties (by block). If you want to have these special propertiesavailable, just rename for example layer AM_0 to 0 in the MechanicalOptions.
s
Because AutoCAD 2000 always starts with Layer 0, we recommend usingtemplate files, where layer AM_0 is always the starting layer.
s
If you move elements on layer 0 to other layer groups, you are asked if youalways want to move the elements on layer group layergroupname-AM_0.
