Three homers propelled the Keys to their second-straight win Sunday afternoon, ensuring at least series-split with Winston-Salem and giving Frederick the opportunity to win the season series if it can win tonight and tomorrow. Frederick gets a boost tonight from Baltimores Wilson Betemit, who continues his rehab assignment with his second stint at Harry Grove Stadium. Brady Wager starts for the Keys tonight, hoping to snap his own two-start losing streak and extend the Dashs losing streak to nine. Has allowed four runs in each of his first two starts for Winston-Salem, giving up a combined 13 hits in 9.2 innings. Hes walked six batters and fanned nine. Went 11-3 with a 2.51 ERA for independent Windy City last year, striking out 177 batters in 150.1 innings. Went 5-0 with a save and a 1.45 ERA in 11 games (eight starts) for Class-A Kannapolis, holding batters to a .199 average against, before being promoted. Signed by the Yankees as an undrafted free agent in 2010, he reached Class-A Charleston in 11 but was then released. After pitching for independent Windy City last year, the Orioles signed him and brought him to spring training, but released him at the end of March. Chicago signed him in June.

August 19, 1990: T.R Lewis slugged a three-run 10th inning home run for Frederick and the Keys beat WinstonSalem on the road, 6-2. Lewis finished 2-for-5 with four RBIs on the game and Tyrone Kingwood and Mel Wearing each had three hits for Frederick. IMPORTED FROM CUBA: Cuban outfield prospect Dariel Alvarez had his first hitless game for the Keys on Sunday, but is still batting .500 with three extra-base hits and five RBIs in four games. Alvarez defected from Cuba to Mexico before the 2012 season, where he played in the Veracruz league and hit .317 for Tuxpan. In five seasons with the Cuban Leagues Camaguey, Alvarez hit .297 with 37 home runs and 180 RBIs. RUDY ON THE RUN: Keys outfielder Johnny Ruettiger stole his 39th and 40th bases of the season Sunday, putting him one behind the Carolina Leagues active steals leader, Potomacs Michael Taylor. Former P -Nat Billy Burns still leads the league with 51 steals and was promoted to Double-A on Aug. 2. Ruettigers 40 swipes are the most for a Key since Kyle Hudson stole 40 in 2010. Fredericks single-season steals record belongs to Tim Raines, Jr., who stole 81 bases in 2000.
