Alice was born December 5, 1923 in Grand Forks, ND, to

James Patrick & Rose Marian (Matton) Bulger. It was here
that she grew up with her two older & one younger brother.

Alice attended St. Michael's Elementary School and then

9th grade at St. James Academy. The Academy was 1 1/2
miles away from her home. After a year, because of the
distance & the cold rides on her bike to/from school in the
snowy winter, her parents transferred her to the nearby
Central High public school, just 4 blocks from home, where
she graduated in 1941. After graduating, she attended
Aakers Business College training as a Stenographer /
Bookkeeper.

After graduating from Aakers Business College, she went to

work for AAA (Agricultural Adjustment Agency) in Grand
Forks. She also had a different type of freelance job that
she did in addition to her regular job. She would mend
"stockings" for JC Penney. Ladies would bring in their
stockings, she would pick them up, mend them at home &
return them to the store.

Alice was living at home during the war time with her parents, when
in 1941 she met Walter (Walt) Albedyll on a blind date while he was
stationed by the USAF in Grand Forks. They corresponded by mail
until the Fall of 1943. In August 1944, on his way to his next
assignment in Fresno, California, Walt came back through Grand
Forks as a 'delay in route'. This is when on August 9th at St. Michael's
Catholic Church, they were married. After two cancelled overseas
assignments, they remained in Fresno until Japan surrendered in
August 1945 at which time they planned their return to Seattle. Alice
went first in August 1945 & Walt followed in January/February 1946.
It was during their time in Fresno that their oldest son, Chuck, was

born.
They settled in Seattle where they raised their 4 children. Alice
worked as the office manager in their self-employed insurance
auditing & inspecting business for 47 years, as well as a
bookkeeper/tax preparer for others. They enjoyed bowling, golfing,
camping, traveling and seemed to always be remodeling something
and while in business, Alice was a member of the Ladies "Blue
Goose" insurance association. In 1983 they semi-retired to the Lake
Limerick/Shelton area and shared time in Apache Junction, Arizona
as well. She lived in the Shelton area for 23 years until a few years
after Walts death (in 1999,) Alice moved to Bellevue where she
enjoyed time on the computer, knitting, reading, bingo, pinochle and
time with her family celebrating holidays & other special family
events.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers and
her beloved husband Walt of 55 years. She is survived by her
children (and spouses), Chuck (Ann) Albedyll of Shelton, WA; Bob
(Diane) Albedyll of Mountain Home, ID; Barb (Brian) Mullis of
SeaTac, WA; and Marilyn (Bob) Brown of Kent, WA; 9
grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 6 step
great-grandchildren & extended family.
