Build micro-financing website for people in ChinaWhat;

This is a project that needs to be done very quickly in orderfor it to achieve maximum effect. The website allows people aroundthe world to easily donate money to the victims of the earthquake. The site will feature articles about the disasters from all differentnews sources and allow donators around the globe to use all typesof payment methods to donate. Also, the site allows people todonate to specific people featured in news articles directly in smallincrements. This site utilizes the power of micro-financing and theInternet to connect people so the otherwise less coordinateddonation effort would be more effective and unified. The website is intended for helping people to rebuild SiChuan ratherthan for the immediate relief of this disaster. I think this is essentialand for several reasons. First, there are already many organizationsthat are handling immediate relief efforts in China. Second, once themedia stops reporting the situation in China, people will be lessinclined to donate money. Third, it is very important to supportthese victims after the disasters is over because many of them havebecome homeless and have no one to depend on. The cost of supporting these people would be much higher than the rescuingphase.

Why

; People are generally more willing to donate in smallincrements. The website offer people the ability to donate directlyto a foundation or to support children who lost their parents directlythrough almost every payment method that are available. The sitecould be maintained by charging a small transaction fee. This couldbe a more cost efficient donation process.

How;

The way the website could work is that we could find apartner who could handle the distribution of money to the victims.Create profiles of people who are registered and do minor details of their situation. Allow people to donate through the website using a

variety of methods, paypal, google checkout etc.Allow people to donate specifically to people featured in an article. The site could be marketed by being included in google, yahoo,msn, sina, sohu, baidu etc. use back end built by givology The website that I am proposing allow people around the world todonate to specific organizations or individuals all in one place. Thewebsite has two distinguishing features. First, it allow organizationsto post profiles of themselves and the victims that they are takingcare off on the site. We will integrate their payment channel into ourwebsite.Second, people to donate to victims featured in all the news articlesand videos online. So, a donator could read about a victim on yahoonews, for example, and click on a button on that page which takesthem to our donation website and donate directly to that victim orthe organization that victim is registered with. I think this couldencourage more people to donate because it provides the donatorsa clearer sense of where their money will go to.2.

this project will take several months to develop and market, I amplanning to complete the construction of the website before July and

launch it before Fall semesters starts

. In order to achieve thistarget, I must create a business plan to pitch the idea to potentialangel investors and find a team of dedicated people to build thesite. I’d also need a management team to help me make strategicdecisions and a marketing team with experience in promotingwebsites. Things to do:
