 MISSION STATEMENT 
The Oregon Faith Roundtable Against Hunger seeksto engage diverse religious communities throughoutthe state, including direct service agencies, in orderto develop solutions to the root causes of hungerthrough education and public policy advocacy.
STRATEGIES
We convene
conversations
to learn from each otherand to probe the questions we share.We host
consultations
to connect with our neighborswho are hungry and with research organizations tobroaden our understanding of the root causes of hungerAs members of religious communities, we are calledto encourage
commitments
from congregations,organizations, and individuals to advocate for, andwork toward solutions to the root causes of hunger.
HOW WE ARE ORGANIZED
STATEWIDE CONVENERS
Their names and email addresses are found on the back of thisbrochure. Contact them with your interest. They assist indeveloping Local Roundtables, prepare the legislativerecommendations, prepare the advocacy alerts, and host theannual Harvest of Hope Breakfast. The Breakfast featuresprominent advocates for the Hungry as Keynoters and theorganization conveys the Harvest of Hope Awards toindividuals and organizations who have had a significantimpact on hunger in Oregon.
LOCAL ROUNDTABLES
They are led by a local group of Conveners who planeducational programs and local events. Advocacy is animportant activity at all gatherings. Local events are hosted byRoundtables to focus on education and advocacy.
MEMBERSHIP
Members are individual Hunger Advocates and Leaders,Congregations, Denominations, Communities of Faith andDirect Service organizations. There are no dues. Contact anyof the Conveners for more information.
