2013 IOWA STATE 300 YARD HIGHPOWER RIFLE CHAMPIONSHIP

DATES: August 24 and 25, 2013 LOCATION: River City Rifle and Pistol Club range in Clear Lake, IA. The address of the range is 20935 Jonquil Avenue,

Clear Lake, Iowa 50428. Directions from Highway 18 (a.k.a. US 122) Turn North on Jonquil Avenue (Intersection at the SE corner of the Mason City Municipal Airport). Go North 3.4 miles. The Range entrance is on the right side of the road (the east side), just south of the intersection of B20 and Jonquil. Directions from I-35 Exit at the 197 off-ramp Go East on county road B-20 1.5 miles Turn south on to Jonquil Avenue The range entrance is immediately on the left (East side)

ELIGIBILITY: Membership in the NRA is not required for participation, but is required in order to set an NRA National Record. Iowa residents must be members of the Iowa State Rifle and Pistol Association to participate in the Iowa State 300 Yard High Power Championship match, non-residents must be members of their respective state associations. Be prepared to show membership cards. Applications for the Iowa State Rifle and Pistol Association will be available. ($20 Annual Membership). RULES: Current NRA High Power Rifle Rules. REGISTRATION FEES: Individual Match Entry (Saturday, Warm-Up Match) Match Entry (Both Days, All Matches)

$10.00 per competitor ($5.00 junior competitors) $40.00 per competitor ($20.00 junior competitors)

INDIVIDUAL ENTRIES: Payment required with advance entries. Entries without payment will not be squadded until payment is made. The match is limited to 33 competitors. Make your entry on the enclosed entry card, please fill it out completely. Make checks payable to the River City Rifle and Pistol Club. Checks will be held until after the match. Mail entries to: John Breuklander 23592 340th Street Forest City IA 50436 Entries will close on August 22nd at 9:00 PM. Any entries, including phone call entries, received after the entry close date will be squadded as walk-ons for the Sunday match. Walk-ons are permitted provided that space is available. SQUADDING TICKETS: All matches will be squadded. Squadding will begin at 8:00 AM each morning on the 200 yard line. Please pick up your packets by 8:30 AM. Squadding closes at 8:45 AM. Be prepared to present your classification card. CLASSIFICATION: NRA Highpower Classification will be used. Unclassified shooters will fire in the Master class. Rule 19.6 Assigned Classifications, or 19.2- Temporary Classification may be used for competing in this State Championship. EMPTY CHAMBER INDICATORS: Empty camber indicators will be required and will be available at the range for $ 2.50 each. RIFLES ALLOWED: Rules 3.1, 3.1.1, 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 3.3, 3.3.1 SIGHTS ALLOWED: Metallic only (Rule 3.7a). CHALLENGE FEE: $ 4.00 each

TARGET OPERATION AND SCORING: All competitors will be required to operate targets and score. A qualified substitute target operator will be allowed. Failure to complete target and scoring duties will result is disqualification and loss of match fees. Eye and ear protection are highly recommended when performing pit duties. GENERAL INFORMATION: Lunch and drinking water will not be available. Outhouses are available. Camping is allowed on the range at no charge. Please contact John Breuklander to make arrangements for camping ahead of time. The range will be closed to live firing starting at 6:00 PM Friday evening to allow for match prep work.

SR Target MATCH 3: 2 SIGHTING SHOTS AND 20 SHOTS FOR RECORD, PRONE, RAPID FIRE, 300 YARDS. SR-3 Target MATCH 4: 2 SIGHTING SHOTS AND 20 SHOTS FOR RECORD, PRONE, SLOW FIRE, 600 YARD REDUCED TO 300 YARDS. MR-63 Target MATCH 5: SLOW FIRE AGGREGATE. AN AGGREGATE OF MATCHES OF 1 and 4. * Competitors will fire standing and sitting without a pit change. AWARDS: Award groups must contain at least 5 competitors or they will be combined with the next higher class. If there are fewer than five high masters, they must compete for open awards only. There must be five or more entries for one award, eight or more for two awards, and 11 or more for three awards. Match 1st, 2nd, 3rd ($15, $12, $10) Class 1st, 2nd, 3rd ($5, $4, $3) The high Iowa resident will be named the Iowa State 300 Yard Highpower Rifle Champion.
