Ferrous Sulfate 05-22-13 Route of administration: Oral General action: Provides and replaces elemental iron, an essential component in formation of haemoglobin in red blood cell development. Indication/s: Prevention and treatment of irondeficiency anemia.

Dosage:

Frequency: TID

Obtain baseline assessment of iron deficiency before starting theraphy. Evaluate haemoglobin, hematocrit and reticulocyte count during theraphy. Monitor for adverse reaction Assess bowel elimination, increase water, bulk and activity if constipation occurs. Assess diet and nutrition amount of iron in diet(meat, dark green leafy vegetables, dried beans, dried fruits,eggs) Identify cause of iron loss or anemia Assess patients and family knowledge of drug theraphy.

Furosemide Route of administration: TIV Inhibits reabsorption of sodium and chloride electrolytic and water balance primarily in loop of agent; loop diuretic Henle and also in proximal and distal renal tubules; Mechanism of Action: an antihypertensive that Rapid-acting potent decreases edema and sulfonamide loop intravascular volume. diuretic andantihypertensive with Reportedly less pharmacologic effects and uses ototoxic than almost identical to those of ethacrynic acid ethacrynic acid. Apirin Route of administration: Oral

Dosage: 80mg/tab

Mechanism of Action: inhibition of platelet aggregation is attributable to the inhibition of platelet synthesis of thromboxane A2, a potent vasoconstrictor and inducer of platelet aggregation. This effect occurs at low doses and lasts for the life of the platelet (8 days).

Instruct patient to report ringing in the ears; dizziness, confusion; abdominal pain; rapid or difficult breathing; nausea, vomiting, bloody stools.

Clonidine Route of administration: oral

Classification: Antihypertensive, Sympatholytic (centrally acting), Central analgesic Mechanism of Action: Dosage: 75mg/tab Clonidine stimulates alpha-2 receptors in brain stem which results in reduced sympathetic outflow from the CNS and a decrease in peripheral resistance leading to reduced BP and pulse rate. It does not alter normal hemodynamic response to exercise at recommended dosages
