Dear riends, supporters,sta and volunteers,
It happened in the blink o an eye. In act, some days I am sure we are adding it up allwrong. But the truth is right in ront o us:Migrant Clinicians Network is 25 years old.For more than two decades we have beenrelentless in our mission to direct support, attention and services to those who servethe mobile poor. Our journey is the story o commitment to an ideal—
“healthcare justice for the mobile poor”
—and thetranslation o that commitment into veryreal impact on very real lives. We don’t just do good work:
we do good work well.
In thesepages you will experience our milestones and read some o ourcase studies. You will eel the depth o the perseverance requiredin order to stand shoulder to shoulder with people in dedicationto the cause o healthcare justice.Your understanding o this dedication—and o the role MCNplays in serving migrant communities—is critical to our contin-ued success.Economic challenges make the decisions about what organiza-tions to support more agonizing than ever. Writing a check insupport o any cause has become, or many, an activity requir-ing the Wisdom o Solomon. It would be easy to think that themobile poor would, in act, suer least because o the economicdownturn; that having the least distance to all economically, they would be least touched by the crisis.
This could not befurther from the truth.
I MCN is the tether between the migrant community and main-stream society, your support o MCN keeps it secured. Your sup-port is not just meaningul…it is
vital.
Our mission is more important than ever: continue to expand thefow o knowledge, tools, teachings and tenacity to those whoneed it most—those on the ront lines bringing healthcare jus-tice to and or the mobile poor.It has been an honor to have been a part o this organization, and I continue to be thrilled and impassioned to serve with peo-ple who have never lost their commitment to help the migrantcommunity. Together we have built something important andenduring. And together we will continue to make strides towardhealthcare justice or our most at-risk communities.Thank you or your support,Karen Mountain MBA, MSN, RNChie Executive Ocer
