Jess’s POV
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy
enough people to make it worth the effort.
I, along with the family, spent the rest of the day (and night since we
don’t sleep) hearing Chris’s stories and occasionally interrupting him
with “oh no’s” and “oh my gosh’s” and gasps. His stories were
interesting. He met other vampires, and they got angered because of
his diet. So, they chased him out of the town he was staying. Wow
those vamps were charming.
Anyways, back to the school problem. I, along with all the other
vampires of my family except, of course, Carlisle and Esme, got bored
of school easily. Typical for normal teens. But also untypical since we
had been going to school for decades. Obviously we get uninterested
in it. We already know everything so what’s the point? Yes, Carlisle
already told us the point, but still.
“What, Alice?”
“You need a big makeover for the first day of school here in Forks!”
Yes, it is the first time I had ever been in school in the town of Forks.
“Yes you do. Now let’s choose an outfit!” I let my overreacting sister be
in charge. She might know the things about Forks High School and
maybe I had to dress fashionably.
“Only one thing Alice…” I started saying, but she interrupted me.
“Alright, ok, I won’t make you wear a mini skirt or tank top.”
After we were done, I was in a knee length light pink skirt and a white
blouse. I had to admit, Alice is a genius.
When I was about to say that, Alice said, “Yea, yea I know.”
Alice pouted while holding eyeliner. “Fine.” She gave up. “At least you
are pretty.”
I leaned up and kissed her cheek. “Aw…thanks Jess! And you know
what?”
“What?” I asked.
She whispered the last part. “Chris is going to the same school as us!
Carlisle already told the principal that!”
I was in shock and I recovered. I smiled. “You know Alice. I don’t really
care.”
“Oh yes you do.”
“Oh no I don’t.”
Alice immediately brightened up. “We’ll see you downstairs.” She said
with a wink. And then she danced out the door. I smiled and followed
her after a minute.
“Hey Jess!” He said. I smiled at him. Time for my revenge. Let’s start it
simple first…
Emmett’s weakness is his impatience. Perfect. I’ll just play with him
awhile. He teases me to make me feel uncomfortable. If I stay positive,
he would get annoyed…
“So Jess…I heard that you and Chris kissed yesterday…” He said,
starting to taunt me.
Emmett started his next move. “Did his lips taste good?”
“Of course Emmett. Why else would I kiss him for? Annoyance?
Curiosity?” I was so happy inside that I finally had a go at Emmett.
“Uh…” Good. Now Emmett doesn’t know what else to say. “Will you
have you-know-what with him?” He now smiled, knowing that sex talk
is one of my rare weak spots. Now everyone went absolute rigid. They
know pretty well what happens when Emmett drags me into sex talk.
Bad things happen. That’s all I’m going to say.
“Ugh! I can’t take it anymore!” Emmett ran outside the house and into
the woods. I laughed so hard. So did my loving family. Haha Emmett…
my big brother! Running away from a positive attitude! I have a very
good feeling that the rest of the day is going to run fine.
“I hear you guys laughing you know!” Emmett yelled from afar.
Yep. Being positive around Emmett is one of the best things that can
happen in your life. How else can you play a trick on a vampire who
loves to cause confusion, awkwardness, and anger?
