Description

Tinnitus is a ringing, swishing, or other type of noise that seems to originate in the ear or head. Tinnitus can arise in any of the four sections of the ear: the outer ear, the middle ear, the inner ear and the brain. Some tinnitus or head noise is normal. Most people experience a temporary tinnitus condition at some point in their life, such as after a loud concert, or a complication from an inner ear infection. Several doctors tell their patients who suffer from tinnitus that they have to live with their tinnitus and that there is nothing anyone can do for them. Since tinnitus is not a disease but a symptom created by another condition the first step is to try and locate the source of the problem. If the source is located then treating that condition may help to eliminate the tinnitus or at least reduce the symptoms.
