To answer the increasing worldwidedemand of both cargo and expressmail markets, ATR proposes the QuickChange concept.The objective is to allow operators tosupplement their passengeroperations with freight flights.

The ATR aircraft family has beendesigned since the origin to fullycomply with both passenger and cargomarket requirements. The ATRs areequipped as standard with a generouscargo door of 50” (1.27 m) in widthand 60” (1.52 m) height.The containerized freight loading isfacilitated by the low door sill heightlocated as an average at 4 ft(1.2 m).In Quick Changeconfiguration, the ATR cabinis equipped with smokedetectors and with themodifications required by thecertification for full freightoperations.The configuration change isvery easy and rapid. Around30 minutes are necessary on an ATR42 to convert the aircraft, to installthe cargo loading system and thecontainers. The same tasks will beperformed within 45 minutes on theATR72.Each optimized container has 2.8 m

(99 cu.ft) of usable volume and itsmaximum net payload is 435kg(960lb).
