Downloading and Installing Google Earth

Open and InternetBrowser and navigate to –http://earth.google.com2.Click on the “Download”button to start theprocess.3.Click the “Agree” button toagree to the licenseagreement.4.The software will bedownloaded to yourcomputer. When it isfinished, click “Run GoogleEarth” button to install thesoftware.5.NOTE: At a later time youmight also want toconsider trying GoogleEarth Pro, which can bedownloaded from thesame page. Pro has anumber of advantagesover Free Earth, includingbetter measuring toolsand integration with GPSdata and GIS shape files.

Logging into Google Earth Pro
1.Double click on the icon with yourcursor to launch the software. Thereshould be an icon on your desktop. If you do not have an icon, please informthe instructor.
Navigating In Google Earth
2.The software offers a navigation tool inthe upper right-hand corner of thescreen. This tool will help you to zoom inor out, change your direction, or tilt yourperspective.3.Clicking the “N” on the compass will re-orient the globe. Dragging the “N” willadjust the north axis. You can rotate in360 degrees.4.The top compass lets you change yourperspective from overhead to a positionalong side of it.5.The bottom compass spins the EarthNorth, South, East and West. Clickingand holding down the four directionalarrows either on the compass or on yourkeyboard will also spin the Earth.6.The horizontal slide bar beneath thecompass lets you zoom in and out.Spend some time zooming in and out.
