In the words of Christ, the great text for theUPARDOABLE SI, the Master gives theclew and lays the foundation for our argument.Mt. 12:31-32. Jesus the all wise and infiniteSaviour tells us, "All manner of sin and blasphemyshall be forgiven unto men. (ote he said ALL sinand all blasphemy shall be forgiven — save theblasphemy against the Holy Ghost). Why notthis also able to be forgiven? Is it a greater sinthan any other? We think no greater than anyother sin, for every sin is against an Infinite God,the sin is against IFIITY. othing can begreater than the sin against IFIITY. owlook here, SEE WHAT THE MASTER SAYS,THE SI AGAIST "THE SO OF MA"may be forgiven, and that's a sin against IFI-ITY. Jesus being both God and man. Son of Man, Son of God, THE GOD-MA, but thiscan be forgiven. otice this; "The sin againstthe Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven, neither inthis world, neither in the world to come." Thereis a distinction in the Sin against the Son of Man, —Jesus, and the Sin against the Holy Ghost. Re-member this. This distinction the Master pointsout leads to the understanding of what the U-6 FORWARDPARDOABLE SI IS. Jesus shows us whatHje means, and why this sin can not be forgiven.This is just the foreword, the explanation, thatJesus, the Saviour, makes in His statement, whichis so plain, none should fail to grasp it; and allwould, if they only paused to answer why theSI AGAIST THE SO OF MA COULDBE FORGIVE, WHILE THE SI AGAISTTHE HOLY GHOST COULD OT.
Then in Hebrews 10:26-29 Paul takes up theMaster's argument and presents it to us in a newlight, adding force to what the Master has alreadytold us. "He that despised Moses' law, died with-out mercy," under the witness of two or three.He adds : The Law God delivered to Moses uponfire crowned, smoke wreathed Sinai. Then thewriter to the Hebrews takes up the argument asthe Master in Mt. 12 13 1-32 has presented it, "Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall hebe thought worthy who hath trodden under footthe Son of God, (Christ said the 'Son of Man,' — it's the same person, Jesus, the Saviour of theworld, Jno. 3:16-17, Christ the anointed Lamb of God, Jno. 1 :29) and hath counted the blood of the covenant wherewith he was sanctified an unholything, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?" Ah I we have it here in its fulness, GodFORWARD 7the law giver, Christ the Son of Man, the Son of God, and the "Holy Ghost, Spirit of grace."In other words you have Father, Son and HolySpirit, the three persons of the Godhead, and whena man has committed the UPARDOABLESI, the LOVE OF THE FATHER, THESO, THE SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD,AD THE SPIRIT OFGRACE,THE GUIDEITO ALL TRUTH, ALL HAVE BEE EX-HAUSTED, ALL HAVE BEE DEFAMED,ALL HAVE BEE ISULTED, ALL HAVEBEE SPURED, and have forsaken a man,and so his case is desperate; DESPERATE, yes,that is the word, and that does not overpicture hiscase; not at all.
