Quanto ao motivo que me impulsionou foi muito
simples. Para alguns, espero, esse motivo
poderá ser suficiente por ele mesmo. É a
curiosidade - em todo caso a única espécie de
curiosidade que vale a pena ser praticada com
um pouco de obstinação: não aquela que procura
assimilar o que convém conhecer, mas que
permite separar-se de si mesmo. De que valeria
a obstinação do saber se ele assegurasse apenas
a aquisição dos conhecimentos e não, de certa
maneira, e tanto quanto possível, o descaminho
daquele que conhece? Existem momentos na vida
onde a questão de saber se se pode pensar
diferentemente do que se pensa, e perceber
diferentemente do que se vê, é indispensável
para continuar a olhar ou a refletir.
