Protest against activity of General Direction of the EnviromentalProtection (Generalnej Dyrekcji Ochrony Środowiska)
Dear Sir / MadamSuch issue happened in Poland in a small village to be precise at Poznan’ssuburbs, there is being built the enormous power line, for sure the biggest inPoland and perhaps in Europe as well , where pylons have 70m height and thepower transmission is 2x400kV + 2X 220 kV.This line is located just 30m from homes, thus as you can see the risk for peopleshealth is more then huge, you can find more information athttp://www.bioinitiative.org/report/index.htmDuring the investment planning process all basic human rights have been broken ,also the investor does not respect the Aarhus convention and EU directives whichis the EU law and must be respected by the polish government and courts. Suchdirectives have been implemented to allow local communities take part in theplanning process effectively and force the investor to consider the local voice andsuggestions.The local community organized and announced special consultations where theyagreed that the best alternative is to build the line at least 800m from homeswhere possible, if not the line should be buried and the underground cabletechnology should apply (commonly used in the western countries)The biggest disappointment and we can even say scandal was to add suchinvestment to the special act EURO 2012 (European Football Tournamentssupported by UEFA organized in Poznan), such solution was done to circumventthe law. In such way the investor is able to perform the construction worksregardless the claims from local community and could even ignore them,moreover investor does not have to wait for final administrative decisionsespecially from the Government Environmental Body which have to state whether such investment is acceptable from the environment perspective or not.To confirm such scandalous behaviour, we can say that the inhabitants claims arestill being considered by the ministry of infrastructure even they have beensubmitted almost 5 months ago, In the act EURO 2012 we can read that theministry should reply and state final decision within 14 days. The ministry of infrastructure also ignored claims which were submitted by Polish EcologicAssociation called “Right to Life” which defends local communities againstmassive electro-radiations caused by powerlines and GSM stations.The ministry announced that they will state the final decision on 20

of June , atthe day when the investment project is planned to be finished.
