The journal you are about to read presents a synopsis o the researchcarried out by the undergraduate students o Yeshiva University dur-ing the past academic year (2012-2013). This issue o the Undergradu-ate Research Abstracts Journal, like those o previous years, reects theenthusiasm at Yeshiva College and Stern College or Women or doingresearch and sharing the process o discovery with others.Our students work in an impressive array o felds. Physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, computer science and psychology are all repre-sented here. Some o the research was carried out on campus with YUaculty members; some was done at other universities or national labs. Inmany cases the fndings will be presented by the students themselves atinternational conerences and then published in leading journals.What unites all o the work presented here—rom summer researchprojects to multi-year endeavors—is the students’ curiosity about theworld. It is a privilege to be the aculty advisor o this journal and beinspired by this curiosity. I hope you will be inspired too.
