Description

A fresh perspective on the first successful (?) introduction of honey bees into Australia in 1822 aboard the convict ship Isabella under Captain Wallace (or Wallis). Previous failed introductions from 1806 are listed and evaluated. An alternative successful date of 1831 is introduced for the efforts of Dr Thomas Braidwood Wilson when he brought honey bees to Van Diemen's Land in 1831.
