On March 7, 2013 President Obamanominated Regina McCarthy to become thenext Administrator of the
Environmental Protection Agency.
Even after her agency agreed to makeimprovements to the ENERGYSTAR program, shemismanaged it allowing abroad range of products toreceive the energy efficiencyseal, not just the mostefficient. Fn.1.
Her agency approved R
1234yf, a dangerous new air conditioning refrigerant, because it is environmentally friendly.McCarthy claimed that “it is homegrownsolutions like this [the refrigerant] that savelives and strengthen our economy.” SeveralGerman car manufacturers refused to use itafter tests conducted by Mercedes showedthat it could catch fire and release deadly gasinside the passenger cabin. McCarthy denies that the Clean Air Act destroysnet jobs. In fact, she believes that regulationscreate jobs. Fn.3.

Although McCarthy wouldhave us believe that she is an expert on climatescience, she could not tell a Congressionalpanel how much of the atmosphere iscomposed of carbon dioxide. Fn.5.
In spite of a drought and rising feed costs for farmers, she defended the EPA’s refusal towaive corn ethanol production requirements.Fn.6.
She has a habit of breaking her promises to
