Togarmah is Strong’s 8425, Tôwgarmâh, to-gar-maw’; or Tôgarmâh, to-gar-maw’; prob. of for.


der.; Togarmah, a son of Gomer and his posterity:—Togarmah.

This word occurs only four times in the Bible, all in the Old Testament. Two occurrences have to
do with genealogy, and the two occurrences in Ezekiel connect Togarmah with Tyrus and with
Gog and Magog.

Smith’s Bible Dictionary connects Togarmah with Armenia: Togar’mah. A part of Armenia,
named after Togarmah, a brother of Ashkenaz and son of Gomer.

Genealogy

Togarmah was a grandson of Noah’s son Japheth, and a great-grandson of Noah.

Genesis 10:3: 3 And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

I Chronicles 1:6: 6 And the sons of Gomer; Ashchenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

Togarmah Connected With Tyrus

Ezekiel 27:14: 14 They of the house of Togarmah traded in thy fairs with horses and horsemen
and mules.
