August 2013Welcome to UNCW. We are so excited that you have chosen UNCW on your journey oflearning. Whether you are transferring from a two-year community college, another four-yearinstitution, returning from military service, or returning to school after an extended periodtime,
on becoming a Seahawk and welcome to Teal country!Our efforts are, above all, student-centered and designed for your success, both on and off thecampus. We honor and encourage pluralism, collaboration and engagement because we holdthese fundamental principles crucial to your achievements at UNCW. So crucial, in fact, thatour new TEAL BRIDGE program and PERCH Services are specifically for transfer students, toassist in your transition to UNCW. There are socials, mini workshops, mentor program, coffee breaks, a Transfer Student Appreciation event and several academic advising activities thatwill help you be wholly successful here.We encourage you to walk around campus and get comfortable in your new home. Find theplace that feels right to read or study; scout out where to grab a cup of coffee on the way toclass; check out the student service organizations Campus Activities & Involvement Center;visit one of the lounges in Fisher Student Center to chat with new friends - -
