Flat Earth in the Koran Thanks for the message. The Koran does imply that the Earth is Flat despite assertions to the contrary. Below the Flat Earth is a seven level Hell. The Earth and Sky are held up in a Cosmic Ocean by hidden pillars that are underwater. Obviously God did not write or inspire any book containing such absurd ideas. 1. Earth made as a carpet The Koran does not say that the Earths crust is like a carpet. It says that the Earth itself is like a carpet. If you want the Koran to refer to the Earths crust, you must first demonstrate that the author of the Koran had such a concept. We know that he did not as the Koran does not explicitly mention the Earths Crust. The Koran does not know that the Crust exists. 2. Carpet can also be spread on other than an absolute flat surface Have you ever seen a spherical carpet. Were the carpets in Mohammeds tent spherical? Of coarse not, they were all flat. 3. Earth has been spread out A sphere does not look spread out. It looks rolled up.Spreading out means something like a baker spreading out dough to make a roughly flat loaf of bread.

Pickthall “And after that He spread the Earth.” 2. Yusuf Ali “And the Earth, moreover, hath He extended. (To a wide expanse)” 3. Hilali-Khan “And after that He spread the Earth.” 4. Shakir “And the Earth, He expanded it after that.” 5. Sher Ali “And the Earth, along with it, He has spread forth.” 6. Khalifa “He made the Earth egg-shaped.” (Corrupt Translation) 7. Arberry “And the Earth-after that He spread it out.” 8. Palmer “And the Earth after that He did stretch out.” 9. Rodwell “And afterwards stretched forth the Earth.” 10. Sale After his he stretched out the Earth.” 11. Irving “And the Earth has He spread out besides.” 12. Dawood ”After that he spread the Earth.” Only Rasheed Khalifa translates this Surah using the term “Egg Shaped”. Khalifa was a Submitter and not an Orthodox Muslim. He said that he was a Prophet sent by God just like Mohammed. In Islam this is heresy and it is probably why Muslim extremists murdered him. Orthodox Muslims should not be using this corrupt Koran. Besides this the Earth is NOT “Egg Shaped”. Earths polar diameter is 12,714 Km and its equatorial diameter is 12,756 Km. It is not a perfect sphere, but it is nearly a perfect sphere. That is why Earth looks like a perfect sphere in pictures taken from Space. The Glorious Qur’an says: "O My servants who believe! truly. spacious is My Earth: therefore serve ye Me –(And Me alone)!" The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 29, Verse 56 Therefore none can give the excuse, that he could not do good and was forced to do evil because of the surroundings and circumstances. 4. Earth is geospherical in shape The Qur’an mentions the actual shape of the earth in the following verse: "And we have made the earth egg shaped". The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 79, Verse 30 The Arabic word Dahaha means egg shaped. It also means an expanse. Dahaha is derived from Duhiya which specifically refers to the egg of an ostrich which is geospherical in shape, exactly like the shape of the earth. Thus the Qur’an and modern established science are in perfect harmony.

The Qur’an rightly refers to it like a carpet spread out, so that we can travel along its roads and paths. 2. Carpet can also be spread on other than an absolute flat surface Not a single verse of the Qur’an says that the earth is flat. The Qur’an only compares the earth’s crust with a carpet. Some people seem to think that carpet can only be put on an absolute flat surface. It is possible to spread a carpet on a large sphere such as the earth. It can easily be demonstrated by taking a huge model of the earth’s globe covering it with a carpet. Carpet is generally put on a surface, which is not very comfortable to walk on. The Qur’an describes the earth crust as a carpet, without which human beings would not be able to survive because of the hot, fluid and hostile environment beneath it. The Qur’an is thus not only logical, it is mentioning a scientific fact that was discovered by geologists centuries later. 3. It all seems quite logical to me, but perhaps I am mistaken. Perhaps critics could be more specific about the alleged lies and propaganda. I have studies over 50 of the alleged Scientific Miracles of the Koran and I have found that none stand up to scrutiny, whenever they are examined closely.
