Wedding Anniversary Mass: Couples celebrating 30, 40, 50, 60 & 60-plus years of marriage in 2013 are invited, along with their families, to a Mass of Thanksgiving, celebrated by Archbishop Joseph Kurtz, on Sunday, September 29th at 2 PM at the Cathedral of the Assumption. Register with Diane Black in the Parish Office by September 15th. Ecumenical Worship Service: Deacon Carl encourages you to attend the ecumenical prayer service at Signature Health Center this Sunday, September 1st, at 2 PM. Their residents enjoy worshipping with others in the community. Parish Office Reorganization: Effective September 3rd, office hours have been set for Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM, and until 6:30 PM on Wednesday only. The Parish Office will be closed for the Labor Day holiday on Monday, September 2nd. Deacon Carl and Laura Zoeller, Youth Minister, will share the office on the left side of the outside entrance, and Parish Secretary/Bookkeeper/DRE Diane Black is now in the space to the right. Among those we should have thanked last week were Connie and Dennis Eisenback, for their assistance in the re-organization efforts. Monthly Potluck Brunch: The decision was made to suspend the monthly potluck brunches for the summer, or indefinitely, as we look to make some changes. Contact Diane Black in the Parish Office, if you have any questions. The 40th annual Rosary Celebration will be held next Sunday, September 8th, at 3:00 PM, at Nelson County High School. Fr. Anthony Stephens of the Fathers of Mercy will be the guest speaker. Contact Deacon Carl with questions. Immigration Reform: Congress returns to work on the Monday after Labor Day, and the push will be on to pass comprehensive immigration reform. Please write to your elected officials to let them know of your support for immigration reform. Go to Justice for Immigrants (www.justiceforimmigrants.org) and send a postcard or become a Faithful Citizen Advocate through the Catholic Conference of Kentucky - log on to www.ccky.org and follow the link in the Welcome message. St. Francis Xaviers Coping with Grief ministry (a support group for persons grieving the death of a spouse or a close loved one) will meet Tuesday, September 10th, 2013 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier, 155 Stringer Lane , Mt. Washington , KY 40047 in the Religious Education building (TGIF room). All are welcome. AA will meet at 7:30 PM each Tuesday in the Parish Hall. An open discussion format is used. The first of the monthly celebrations of the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will be the weekend of September 14/15th (second weekend), after Mass; and the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be September 21st (third Saturday) from 2:30-3:00 PM. Both sacraments are also available, by appointment, with Fr. Dale. Religious Education: Our first session will be a Family Session on Sunday, September 8th, 9:45-11:15 AM in the Parish Hall, and parents must attend with their child. 2013-14 Registration Forms were mailed to registered families with children in the Preschool through High School age range and must be returned as soon as possible. Believe: This season focuses on the Creed and our fundamental beliefs as Catholics. It is not necessary for you to have participated in past sessions of Why Catholic?
