Unison Scripture
Mark 12:41-44 (NRSV)
He sat down opposite the treasury, and watched the crowd putting money into the treasury. Many rich people put in large sums. 42A poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which are worth a penny. 43Then he called his disciples and said to them, Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the treasury. 44For all of them have contributed out of their abundance; but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.

Confession of Sins

Verse 1

Almighty and Most Merciful Father, we come before You, acknowledging our sins, our shortcomings, and our breaking of our Covenant with You. Not only have we done things we ought not to have done, said things we ought not to have said, left undone so many things we ought to have done and been silent when we should have witnessed for You. Not only are we guilty of that, O Lord; but we have also closed our eyes and pretended not to see the injustices, the racism and the evil which pervade our everyday lives. We have shut our ears and pretended not to hear the cries for liberation which come from the lips, lives and hearts of the oppressed even our own Black brothers and sisters! Forgive us, O Lord, renew our courage and faith, and keep us ever mindful of Thy great sacrifice. Hear us, we beseech Thee, as we come to You in love and worship giving Your Name the praise forevermore. ****** To All Our Visitors ... To all who mourn and need comforting ... To all who are friendless and want friendship ... To all who are oppressed and need liberation; and to whosoever will come, Trinity opens its doors. Thank you for coming, and may God bless you.

So, forget about yourself Concentrate on Him and worship Him. So, forget about yourself Concentrate on Him and worship Him. So, forget about yourself Concentrate on Him and worship Christ the Lord. Worship Him, Christ the Lord

Verse 2

Let us lift up holy hands Magnify His name and worship Him. Let us lift up holy hands Magnify His name and worship Him. Let us lift up holy hands Magnify His name and Christ the Lord. Worship Him, Christ the Lord.

Labor Day Litany

Minister: Lord, we see our neighbors hurting as they lose their jobs to layoffs and plant closings and their homes to foreclosure. We pray that in the midst of turmoil, they feel your presence. All: Lord of compassion, hear our prayer. Minister: Lord, our elected officials seek solutions to this economic crisis, let them not forget workers, who through the sweat of their brows, keep this country going. All: Lord of compassion, hear our prayer. Minister: Lord, as we face the uncertain future, give us the spirit of integrity, that we would hold up those who are in severe distress, as we are all your children and made in the image of God.
LABOR DAY LITANY

All: Lord of compassion, hear our prayer. Minister: Lord, we pray for employers that they would not bow to idols in the worship of wealth, stealing wages and abusing workers rights, but would seek justice, providing fair compensation and benefits to those they employ. All: Lord of compassion, hear our prayer. Minister: Lord, we pray for those who see no way, who are discouraged or are hurt. We pray that they do not feel hopeless or alone. We pray that our hearts would be open to help our neighbors and community through this time. All: Lord of compassion, hear our prayer. Minister: We pray for ourselves, that we would exhibit Your loving kindness. We pray that we would not stand idly by while suffering surrounds us. We pray that we would be instruments of justice, speaking truth to power and acting on the mandate of justice. All: Lord of compassion, hear our prayer.

Pray the Devil Back to Hell
Special Movie Screening Friday, September 6, 2013 6 p.m. 8:30 p.m.
Hosted by 1st Lady Monica Moss In partnership with The First Ladies of Lowden Homes and The Fierce Women of Faith
Pray the Devil Back to Hell is the extraordinary story of a small band of Liberian women, led by Nobel Peace Prize winner and activist, Leyma Gbowee, who came together in the midst of a bloody civil war, took on the violent warlords and corrupt Charles Taylor regime, and won a long-awaited peace for their shattered country in 2003. As the rebel noose tightened upon Monrovia, and peace talks faced collapse, the women of Liberia Christian and Muslims united - formed a thin but unshakable white line between the opposing forces, and successfully demanded an end to the fighting armed only with white T-shirts and the courage of their convictions. Come and be inspired, uplifted and most importantly, motivated to take our own communities back from the brink of utter desperation.

RAISING LEADERS and DEVELOPING DISCIPLES

January Matthew 16:24 (NLT) Then Jesus said to his disciples, If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me." February Luke 4:18-19 (NIV) The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lords favor. March Luke 10:19 (NIV) I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. April Romans 10:1-2 (NLT) Dear brothers and sisters, the longing of my heart and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved. I know what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal. May 1 Corinthians 13:8 (NIV) Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. June Romans 5:8 (NIV) But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. July Philippians 4:13 (NLT) For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. August Jeremiah 1-7 (NLT) The Lord replied, Dont say, Im too young, for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you." September Isaiah 1:3 (NLT) Even an ox knows its owner, and a donkey recognizes its masters carebut Israel doesnt know its master. My people dont recognize my care for them. October Isaiah 40:29 (KJV) He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. November John 17:21 (KJV) That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. December Matthew 1:23 (KJV) Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
