Task: Heat Magazine The magazine is called Heat because its about this weeks hottest celebrity news. The significant words used are TOO HOT TO CARE! stating that the people shown on the front cover are hot but not hot enough to not care what they think of themselves and their appearance. Heat magazine is published by German company Bauer Media Group. Bauer Media Group also publish mother and baby magazine, Closer, Golf world and many more magazines and companys. The magazine Heat costs 1.65. Heat magazine is published every week with a new issue on Wednesday. Yes Heat does have an online website with the latest issue and top news with also past issues you can find and read. The type of audience who read Heat magazine are between the age of young teens to middle aged women. I know this because of what the magazine is about, mainly gives the gossip about famous women, relationship issues, clothing inspirations and the top update on famous female celebritys. Which that age group at interested in reading about and wanted to know. The reader interacts with the magazine by the bright bold writing and catching puns used to attracted with also the front cover pictures used to sum up some of the main stories and gossip shown in the magazine about celebrities. The images used on the front cover sums up the title of this specific issue TOO HOT TO CARE with images that show celebrities on holiday in bikinis not looking their best, most of them are over weight and looking unhappy. That the target audience wanted to look at these images shows that they need a lift or boost from reading about or seeing these photos or that they themselves look or feel the same as those shown on the front cover. Discount off a clothes brand and other little important topics in the magazine are shown and advertise on the front of the Heat magazine. A contents and full page advertisements are used in the magazine to help organize and show where everything is inside the magazine and get funds

or sponsors off other brands and advertising their product inside the magazine. Certain types of colours and typefaces are used in this magazine to be recognized for those colours and styles also to stand out and attract more to read this magazine or buy it. Its simpler to other magazines because of its front cover layout, the way the photos are organized and the way the text is positioned. But also its different due to the colours used, the magazine uses its own colour scheme that is different to other magazine that makes it come across different. The magazines presentation is a background of a collared of images with the text over the top, making the text stand out more. The magazine doesnt look neither cheap or expense, it looks very intact and readable for the correct pricing. To compare with other magazines like Closer, Look or Vogue they are very much laid out the same and presented the same just with different colour schemes and styles. Thats what makes every magazine different and individual. It addresses its readers with bold and eye catching lines that are also created to attract the readers attention. The subjects covered in this magazine are celebritys bodies on holiday, their style and diets. Also reads about the Apprentice and the finial two. Then from the front cover shows that there is a page on Kholes and Kims man issues. The main products being advertise in this magazine are makeup/hair products and companies, also new car designs and popular food brands and stores. The adverts price range from 10 to 13,500 They are all aimed at the same target market teenagers- middle aged women who are able to buy these products, thats why the adverts are placed in this magazine specifically. The model used in these adverts for example the advert for Frizz-Ease hair product have lush beautiful hair and attractive to look at making you read the article and want to look or even buy it. Because the magazine is more targeted for women, most information given out in the magazine is stuff women will want to read about. So man in this specific issue of Heat are shown as aggressive and unloyal due to the Kim and Khloe story about the husbands. But on the other hand the images used for the TOO HOT TO CARE story show that most women are lazy and unfit due to the unflattering images of the certain female celebritys on holiday. There conflicting storys in this issue of Heat between the finial two in the Apprentice, they get interviewed which shows there conflicting battle to both want to win and beat the other.

The celebrities used are once that are most known well, the more known that are showed the more regular people will know and wants to read about them. Also these certain celebrities have been used because something interesting has accorded in their life or theres something new that people need to know about going on with them. Other magazines such as Closer, Vogue, Look and many more. These other magazines cost around the same price of 2.00 as they are of the same quality and quantity as the Heat magazine, which is why they are such a big competitor. The similaritys between these magazines is that they all use the same layout, not always the same stories but the way the magazine its self is similar due to the fact they are created in the same industries. Although they are all different in their own ways because they have different themes, colour themes, text themes and story themes. Personally I believe the reason for this magazines popularity is because the stories used are stories that people want to read about and want to know, because they are so juicy and rare people want to know them. Also the attraction, the colours, layout, structure is all very eye catching and attracts people t want to read and buy it. The magazine offers its readers good stories and gossip about the rich and famous. But also advertises good offers on new and good products that the target market will be wanting and looking for.
