CMS is offering students an opportunity to enhance their success in math class in the comingschool year. Mathematics is a cumulative discipline which means that each course builds uponpreviously learned concepts, incorporating more rigor and higher levels of complexity. Toensure that students have a sound mathematical foundation before moving on to a morechallenging math class, we have developed Summer Math Packets that address key conceptsfrom specific levels of the middle school math curriculum.The above site contains links that will allow you to download and print the Summer MathPackets. These packets have a dual purpose. They were created to be used by students whoare skipping a level of math, but they can also be used by students who wish to review mathconcepts that were covered during this school year. The packet for each levelcontains: Kids' Information Page, Parents' Information Page, Textbook Navigation Page(instructions for accessing the online math textbook), and worksheets for selectedobjectives. Each worksheet includes an explanation of a particular skill, examples, andpractice problems. Parents can obtain answer keys in the CMS front office or request oneby email. For students skipping a level of math:
Students who are jumping a level are essentially skipping an entire level of the middle schoolmath curriculum. These summer math packets were created to address key concepts fromthat curriculum that will help to prepare students for a higher level math class in the comingschool year. The Summer Math Packet is
optional 
but is strongly recommended.
