When adults say, Use your words. Arm them with words they can use. Why do children cry, hit, stomp their feet? Sometimes children do not know what to say or do. What they do know is how to cry, hit, and stomp. They have feelings. We can give them powerful tools to help them in the myriad of situations they face with their family and their peers. Give them the words to empower them to work with their friends and family. Children who are quite verbal, may have few challenges in this area. Just remember that everyone has different gifts. Let us help each other develop the skills needed to grow. Even as adults we need to be guided too. Repetition and encouragement is the key for success.
