Preface
Regional cooperatives rely on the local cooperatives as a direct link to the agricultur-al producer. Likewise, the locals are the agricultural producer’s direct link to marketsand supplies. Therefore, local cooperatives play a pivotal role in the rural community.Yet, they are more than just a provider of markets and agricultural supplies. The ruralcommunity looks to its local cooperatives for services that may not otherwise be pro-vided in the surrounding communities. The largest commodity those local coopera-tives supply to member/patrons is petroleum. This report identifies the petroleumproducts and services these locals provide for the rural community.
