Place the bowl on a tableand fll it with water until itreaches 2cm rom the top.
1.
Crouch down and watchthrough the side o thebowl as you lower the ruler straight down into thewater. In what way has theruler changed?
2.
Watch as you move theruler around in the water. Try viewing it rom dierentangles. I the bowl is lited itcan be viewed rom below.
3.
 At dierent viewpoints theruler will appear to bend,expand, shrink or evenappear to become 2 rulers.Can you see any other results?
4.
 Try the same experimentwith a coin. Drop it to thebottom o the bowl. Findthe viewpoint where itdisappears. Now fnd whereit appears to be 2 coins.
5.
 Try the experiment withother (waterproo!) objectsrom around the house.
