I originally wrote this article when I was 18 or so, sometime around 1990. For some reason, I have always had a particular ‘affection’ for this story, so I have recently translated it from the original in Portuguese.

It briefly portrays the life and death of a street kid in a big South American city. Many people in middle and upper classes take for granted the miserable lives these children have, before they eventually resort to violence against a society that gives them very little indeed...
