Lesson Plan
Computer to play “How are you?” songLesson Focus(es), & Measurable Outcome(s)
The students enjoy English.
o
Whether or not they are smiling and laughing.
Success.
Introduce [review for some students] the names of fruits.
o
When I subsequently ask some students fruit names at the supermarket, see if they remember.
About 50-50. One of the girls continually surprised me with her level of rentention. For the 3
rd
grade student the exercise wasfar too easy, and for one of the 2
nd
graders too difficult. Thenew student did not chose to really try. Why?
Students and I can get to know each other better. Students can get a break from their regular classes. English class can be used as something to stimulatetheir minds and a place to have fun.Plan1.Greetinga.A pair of 1
st
graders who last week were completely lost were sayingthe greeting with me before class.2.TPR Warmupa.Jump, Spin, Spin Jump, Star Jump, Run, Sleep, Disco, Twist, Eat3.How are you? Songa. The new student was not responding to “How are you?” and not reallyacknowledging me at all. As such, I felt it was better to keep class toeasier topics.4.Fruit Card Gamea. Most of the students knew the fruits already, but was a good review.Played through the game once. Was fun.5.Trip to Supermarketa. On the walk, stop and ask for the English names of objects we see, aswell as their color.
