In an effort to keep the Atlantic Yards Community aware of upcoming constructionactivities, ESD and Forest City Ratner provide the following outline of anticipatedupcoming construction activities. We hope it keeps you informed and helps you planfor any possible inconveniences. Please note: the scope and nature of activities are subject to change based uponfield conditions. In addition, during the utility work water shut-offs may berequired; these shutdowns are done under the oversight of DEP and propertyowners will be given advance notice. All work has been approved by appropriateCity and State agencies where required.
B-2 Tower, Modular Residential
Work related to the Interconnection of the Con Edison Vaults, electric andplumbing has been completed.
We have been advised that Con Edison is planning to work within Dean St(corner of Dean and Flatbush) to install the B2 temporary electrical service onSeptember 9
th.
We have not been advised by Con Edison regarding theduration, but it is anticipated to take 2-3 days to complete their work. We areassuming that Dean Street may have to be closed between 6
th
and Flatbushfor a portion of time to complete their work.
Erection of Structural steel will continue during this reporting period. Therewill be approximately 4 to 5 steel trucks per day when the steel is delivered tothe site. A separate logistics/site safety plan has been submitted for this workand approved by DOB.
Erection of the Sidewalk Bridge at the Dean Street entrance has started andis scheduled to be completed during this reporting period.
Daily cleanup activities of sidewalks and streets are ongoing as required.
 
 
Currently, there are no construction activities scheduled for the upcomingSaturdays during this reporting period. In the event this changes, all work willbe conducted pursuant to DOB approval.
Due to the construction of the B2 Tower, the Dean Security Command Centerand Dean Employee Entrance will periodically need to be closed andrelocated to the Atlantic Entrance.
Dean Street Playground Comfort Station
As part of the construction impact mitigation requirements FCRC constructeda comfort station in the Dean Street Playground near the eastern entrance tothe park at Bergen Street between 6
th
and Carlton Avenues. The buildingincludes men’s and women’s rooms, a small maintenance storage room andperimeter paving and landscaping. The Temporary Certificate of Occupancyhas been issued. Minor punch list items remain to be completed, but will notdelay occupancy. The property has been transitioned to the Department of Parks and Recreation.
LIRR Yard Activities Block 1120 & 1121
 
Pacific Street, between Carlton and 6
th
Avenues, has become one-waywestbound; parking is only permitted along the south side of Pacific Street. The MPT is projected to be in place through October 2013.
Excavation/hauling of soil will be ongoing during this reporting period.
Installation of lagging and tieback and tieback testing along the south wall of the LIRR yard is expected to be completed by the end of this reporting period.
Restoration of pavement, curbs and sidewalks along the north side of PacificStreet, between Carlton and 6
th
Avenues, will be ongoing during this reportingperiod. The MPT barrier and fence will be shifted to the north side of thesidewalk as sidewalk restoration progresses. Temporary barrier will replacethe concrete barriers on Pacific Street to maintain the work zone until all workhas been completed.
Noise and Dust mitigation practices and monitoring will continue throughoutthe duration of the work.
