Be personable. Establish a relationship with the learner and then use the knowledge to help them grow. Recognize each person by using their name. It helps the learner to feel valued. Use higher level questioning strategies to encourage better quality and supported responses. Allow opportunities for errors and make them into teachable moments. Feedback should be relevant to the topic and before other mistakes can be made. Choose words carefully...you can never take them back once they are said. Demonstrate compassion when provided feedback. It helps the learner to be receptive to the correction.
